Looking back at the Forum Alentours 2026

More than 350 industry professionals once again took part in three days of pitch sessions, insightful panel discussions, and one-to-one meetings. To help you relive the event, here is a recap of the key highlights from this landmark gathering for cross-border co-production.

A strong affluence and a strenghtened cross-border dynamic

This 21st edition brought together more than 350 professionals from the audiovisual and film industries, reaffirming the Forum’s position as a leading event for cross-border co-production. Once again, it welcomed a significant number of participants from Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, and Luxembourg. This year’s edition also marked a milestone in the Forum’s history with the participation, for the first time, of professionals from Spain and Iran.

In keeping with its mission to foster cross-border collaboration, the Forum also organised more than 300 one-to-one meetings between producers and financiers. These meetings enabled numerous projects to advance their co-production and financing strategies.

21 Forum Alentours projects and 5 CinEuro Award projects showcased during the pitch sessions

This year’s pitch sessions brought together nearly 200 participants, around twenty financiers, and a catalogue featuring 21 Forum Alentours projects and 5 CinEuro Award projects. Following two writing workshops organised as part of the CinEuro Film Lab, four writers from the European Stories workshop and five writers from the Beyond Borders, Within Societies workshop also had the opportunity to present their projects during the pitch sessions.

Following the presentations of the five finalists for the 2026 CinEuro Award, the animated feature project Vol au Vent, written by Eléonore Devillepoix, directed by Margot Reumont, and produced by Gregory Zalcman, received the award, highlighting the growing importance of international co-production in the field of animation.

Inspiring and timely panel discussions

The Forum featured five panel discussions covering key industry topics, including current market trends, the 25th anniversary of the Mini-Treaty, the StepUp platform, the Creative Europe MEDIA co-production support scheme, and the support mechanisms available to emerging talent. These sessions were led by distinguished speakers, including among others Tanja Meissner, Director of the European Film Market, Claire Lambry, Secretary General of the Premiers Plans Angers Film Festival, and Heike Meyer-Döring, Director of the Creative Europe Desk NRW.

Addressing the latest developments in the film industry, these discussions provided participants with valuable insights into the current challenges and opportunities facing the audiovisual sector.

Forum Alentours awarded the highest eco-certification level

In line with the audiovisual sector’s commitment to environmental responsibility, the Forum continued to strengthen its efforts to reduce its carbon footprint. Waste sorting, vegetarian catering, reusable badges, and the promotion of sustainable mobility were among the initiatives implemented to make the event as environmentally responsible as possible.

These efforts proved successful. Thanks to the commitment of participants and the support of the Éco-Manifestations Alsace association, the Forum was awarded Level 3 certification, the highest distinction under the Eco-Events Charter.
