Retrospective on the round tables in Basel

Over 40 writers answered the call of the “Writersroom” round table. French, Swiss and German authors all gathered in Basel from May 13th to May 15th 2026. This event was held in collaboration with Balimage.

The writers gathered in groups of six and exchanged ideas, critics and remarks about their scenario projects. Each group was supervised by a specialized coach. Thanks to these exchanges, the authors were able confront their ideas with an external point of view.

The roundtable sessions were organized as part of the CinEuro development program. The discussions continued in June with a follow-up debriefing held on Zoom. In addition, a “Story Forum Basel initiative” is currently being developed within Balimage.

This format was implemented in this form for the first time by Balimage as part of the CinEuro Film Lab project.
