Call for applications: Writing workshops “Conflicts et Reconciliations” – CinEuro Film Lab
Publié par Eda Uner le Friday 5 June 2026
The Région Grand Est, through the CinEuro Film Lab, is launching a writing workshop programme dedicated to the theme of “Conflicts and Reconciliations”, in partnership with the Centre de résidence de l’écriture à l’image de Saint-Quirin. The programme is structured around six key in-person and online sessions taking place between 2026 and 2027.
Aimed at writers and directors, with or without a producer attached, this initiative supports the development of live-action and animated feature film projects exploring the vast theme of conflicts (past, present or future), as well as processes of reconciliation and peace.
Held in highly symbolic locations across the Grand Est region (France), the residency is organised alongside two major industry events: the War on Screen Festival (Châlons-en-Champagne) and the Forum Alentours (Strasbourg).
Six feature film projects will benefit from personalised mentoring led by Christophe Erbes and Corinne Destombes, who will be present throughout the programme. Participants will also receive guidance from Sepideh Farsi, the internationally acclaimed Iranian filmmaker whose fiction and documentary works notably address conflicts in Iran.
In addition to high-level script-doctoring sessions, the programme offers participants a structured environment conducive to professional development, network expansion and the emergence of international co-productions. Participants will have the opportunity to exchange with screenwriters and producers from the partner regions and to pitch their projects at Forum Alentours 2027.

This initiative is aimed at writer–producer pairs and supports the development of feature film projects in the genre field (fantasy, science-fiction, crime, thriller, horror, action), both in live-action and animation, around the theme “Stories and Legends.” The residency takes place in two regions—Grand Est (France) and the Brussels-Capital Region (Belgium)—and is organized alongside three major events in the Grand Est region. It concludes with the BIF Market (Brussels Genre Film Market) in April 2027. The program offers selected participants a structured framework that fosters their professional development, expands their network, and encourages the creation of international co-productions.

Writing Workshop 1: June 30 – July 3, 2026 (4 days) in Strasbourg as part of the Forum Alentours.
Writing Workshop 2: September 29 – October 2, 2026 (4 days) in Strasbourg and Mulhouse as part of the Eurogenre professional meetings at the European Fantasy Film Festival Strasbourg (FEFFS).

CinEuro Film Lab 2025 – Stories Beyond Borders, within Societies
Publié par Eda Uner le Friday 19 September 2025
In collaboration with the Film Commissions of North Baden and Freiburg, the MFG Baden-Württemberg offers a tailor-made writing programme for screenwriters. This programme is part of the new phase of the CinEuro Film Lab’s ‘Beyond Borders’ and ‘Societies’ sequences, entitled Stories Beyond Borders, within Societies.
The programme focuses on discovering regional themes related to borders and society in the broadest sense, with themes from Mannheim and Freiburg as well as the neighbouring regions of the Grand Est and northern Switzerland, with the aim of transforming them into film and television projects and, in the best case scenario, bringing them to fruition. The stated objective is to develop regional themes for European and even global markets.
You will participate in workshops led by renowned screenwriter Jan Galli to reflect on your experience and assess the ‘narrative relevance’ of the themes addressed. Project development will continue in workshops led by Jan Galli, with the support of casting directors Fabian Kiefer and Michael Ackermann.
The programme will conclude with the preparation of presentations of your screenplays and participation in the workshop feedback session at the Forum Alentours in Strasbourg, scheduled for July 2026. The first edition of the CinEuro Film Lab feedback sessions took place in 2023 and focused on the themes of migration and history. Among the topics developed, two projects were selected by production companies and also received writing assistance. Another project was selected for development at the prestigious Torino Film Lab.
CinEuro Film Lab therefore offers an ideal framework, from the initial conception phase to the presentation of the project and beyond.
