In times of climate change, it is becoming increasingly important for every industry to address the issue of sustainability. The film industry is not exempt from this, as it continues to produce very high CO2 emissions. As of this year, a voluntary commitment is intended to ensure that film productions become more ecologically sustainable.
MFG Baden-Württemberg invites you to a CinEuro panel discussion where representatives of the city of Stuttgart, the Film Commissions Region Stuttgart and Freiburg as well as professionals from the region will discuss the question “Can Stuttgart become a model city for greenshooting? The aim of the event is to provide impulses for greenshooting in Stuttgart in order to maintain the city as an attractive cross-border film location and make it fit for the future.

Masterclass Film Music – Alexandre Desplat

As part of the Basel Film Music Festival, Balimage is organizing a masterclass on film music led by Alexandre Desplat.
Alexandre Desplat (11 Oscar, 12 Golden Globe and 11 Grammy nominations), composed the music for films such as The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Shape of Water, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Godzilla and The French Dispatch.
Alexandre Desplat was trained as a musician, composer and conductor. He has composed over fifty film scores and is also a conductor with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre National de France, and the Royal Philarmonic Orchestra.

As part of the Saarland Filmmakers’ Weekend, Saarland Medien is pleased to invite you to a Masterclass given by Markus Bensch, location scout and production manager.
Markus Bensch‘s experience includes productions such as The Bourne Supremacy, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2, and Steven Spielberg’s Bridge of Spies.
He will share his experience on cross-border filming and give advice on acquiring locations in the Greater Region.

REELS DU RHIN – Script Lab for serial Social-Media Formats

Submit your application now to participate to the Script-Lab “REELS DU RHIN”, organized in the framework of the INTERREG-project CinEuro!
This Script-Lab will offer you the opportunity to conceive a series intended to be broadcast on social networks, grouped in small trinational teams (fr/de/ch). You will be free to develop the concept of your choice: fiction or reportage.
However, it is essential that your stories concern people from the Upper Rhine region and tell stories about the borders that connect us. You will be accompanied by professional scriptwriters, your coaches. In addition, you will also receive professional advices from authors, producers or broadcasters who develop formats for social networks or who commission them as broadcasters. They will also accompany you online during the Script-Lab in the development of your concept.
You will be able to present your project in Strasbourg in June in front of a professional audience during a pitching session at the Forum Alentours. A jury prize will be awarded to the best project!
13.01 and 14.01 – Online launch event – with presentations by professionals
February to April – Coaching by the coaches
26.04 to 29.04 – Tri-national short film festival SHORTS – first pitch with feedback from professionals
28.06 to 30.06 – Forum Alentours and final public pitching session

French presidency of the Great Region – Professional meeting: Youth in the spotlight!

For the 44th edition of the Villerupt Italian Film Festival, a cross-border professional meeting on the involvement of the young generation in the audiovisual and film professions is being organized on November 10.
Within the framework of the French Presidency of the Greater Region, this meeting will bring together various project leaders from Germany, Luxembourg and France involving young people in the film and audiovisual sector of the Greater Region. This meeting will be animated by Léo Souillés, lecturer at the University of Lorraine.
