Call for entries of the CinEuro Prize 2025 is now open!
Publié par Eda Uner le Friday 3 January 2025
Building on its success, the Prix CinEuro is back again in 2025, with the aim of encouraging the emergence of projects dealing with stories, characters or settings that bear witness to the links between the partner territories* in all their dimensions (economic, political, geographical, societal, cultural…).
This year’s novelty is that Northwestern Switzerland has joined the Prix CinEuro thanks to Balimage, opening up new perspectives for Swiss filmmakers and projects. The CinEuro territory now extends from Reims to Stuttgart and from Brussels to Basel.
The partners behind the Prix CinEuro have a twofold objective: to stimulate the emergence of co-productions by favoring a cross-border approach from the outset, while preserving a strong European identity in the face of increasing standardization of cinematographic and audiovisual content.
Last year, the Prix CinEuro crowned the projects “Helter Skelter” by Paul Vincent de Lestrade (fiction) and “Capitale(s) Europe, la bataille des sièges” by Donato Rotunno (documentary).

Context
CinEuro is a cross-border network of nearly 40 organisations responsible for supporting the film and audiovisual industry in France, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland and Belgium. From 2023, the CinEuro partners decided to support the development of co-productions based on stories linked to the partner territories.
To this end, the Région Grand Est, the Film Fund Luxembourg, the Medien- und Filmgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg, the Saarland Medien GmbH, the Ministerium für Familie, Frauen, Kultur und Integration Rheinland-Pfalz, Wallimage, screen.brussels, Wallonie-Bruxelles International and the Ministerium der Deutschsprachigen Gemeinschaft Belgiens have jointly launched the CinEuro Prize. In 2024, the organizers of the Prize were joined by the Eurometropole of Strasbourg, followed by Balimage for the 2025 edition, which allowed the Prize’s coverage to extend to the Northwestern region of Switzerland.
The aim of this prize is to encourage the emergence of projects dealing with stories, characters or settings that bear witness to the links between the partner territories in all their dimensions (economic, political, geographical, societal, cultural, etc.).

Film screening: Conann (2023) – FEFFS
Publié par Victor Casimir le Tuesday 19 September 2023
As part of the Strasbourg European Fantastic Film Festival, CinEuro invites you to the screening of Connan (2023)!
Join us on Wednesday 27 September at 19:30 at the Star Saint Exupéry cinema for the premiere of Bertrand Mandico’s new feature film, accompanied by the film’s cast and crew! The screening will be preceded by the short film Rainer, a Vicious Dog in a Skull Valley (2023) by the same director.
Connan (2023)
France, Belgium, Luxembourg – 2023 – 1h45
VF – Forbidden under 12 – Warning
Director: Bertrand Mandico
Producers: Emmanuel Chaumet, Gilles Chanial, Avi Amar
Screenwriter: Bertrand Mandico
Cast: Elina Löwensohn, Christa Theret, Agata Buzek
Synopsis :
Conann watches helplessly as her mother is executed as a child. The proud barbarian will take her revenge and lose her memory before – unfortunately for her – finding it again. Conann presents six periods in the tragic life, in ten-year intervals, of a feminized version of the virile character popularized by Arnold Schwarzenegger, through several faces including that of Christa Theret as a wild young adult. By revisiting Robert E. Howard’s hero with his own unique imagination, the director of Wild Boys and After Blue offers us feminist heroic fantasy at the crossroads of eras and a political charge to denounce all forms of totalitarianism.
