Recap of the Grand Est Delegation at BIF Market

The 10th edition of BIF took place from 13 to 17 April 2026 as part of the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFFF). On this occasion, a delegation from Grand Est/CinEuro, comprising six industry professionals, represented the region at this international professional event dedicated to genre cinema.

The 2026 edition provided a valuable opportunity for participants to strengthen professional networks, foster dialogue and exchanges, and identify new opportunities for cooperation.

The visibility initiatives implemented as part of the event, notably the International Info Session, the panel on co-production in the Grande Région, and the CinEuro cocktail reception, contributed to raising the profile of the CinEuro network among international industry professionals and strengthening links between its members and the stakeholders present. These initiatives also supported the development of new co-production opportunities, both within the Grande Région and internationally.

Moreover, three projects selected for RAVEN EGGS, two of which were awarded the CINEURO SHOWCASE label, benefited from financial support from the Grand Est Region:

– 1. SPIDER’S LILY, by Emma CHEVALIER, produced by Savannah SEQUEIRA-SCHNEIDER, SUPERMOUCHE PRODUCTIONS (CinEuro Showcase)

– 2. CHILDREN UNWELCOME, by Anthony Marzin, produced by Daisy Maslo for POUR UNE POIGNÉE DE PIXELS (CinEuro Showcase)

– 3. HANS TRAPP, by Hervé Freiburger and Michaël Guerraz, produced by Paviel Raymont.

Following the competition, HANS TRAPP, produced in Grand Est by the Strasbourg-based production company Les Films du Tonnerre, was awarded a prize in the form of a marketing package. This distinction recognises the quality of the project while highlighting the expertise and creative capabilities of the regional film industry.

This initiative aims to strengthen exchanges between the creative ecosystems of Grand Est and Belgium, support the professional development of writers and producers, and foster the emergence of internationally oriented co-production projects. The announcement of the residency also contributes to a broader program made up of four key meetings, with the final session scheduled to take place at BIF Market 2027. This closing event will include the participation of a professional delegation, notably bringing together the selected participants of the residency.

This program will help to further strengthen cross-border cooperation and enhance the international visibility of the talents, projects and expertise of the partner territories in the field of genre cinema.
