a_BAHN
Publié par Alexis Smouts le Monday 25 October 2021
Since the founding of a_BAHN in 2013, we’ve been working on developing the art of hybridization; trying to be in the intersection of forms and genres, which breaks free from established norms. a_BAHN has a unique experience in social impact cinema and original out-of-the-box and hybrid contents. It’s commitment paired with creativity. The company is fully dedicated to supporting the creation of content that is both artistic and accurate and that engages an audience in response, bringing together the traditional worlds of film and television with new media.
a_BAHN focuses on authors developing challenging narratives with high artistic value, and an international audience. As producers, we accompany them in the development of a singular view on the world. Our authors seek to interpret reality, to give birth to universes. Above all, they seek to inhabit the world poetically. By making us doubt, by making us question ourselves, they make us more alive… and sometimes actors of change.
a_BAHN produced, among others, the highly-acclaimed animated social impact film and transmedia Zero Impunity by Blies Brothers (2019, Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Sao Paulo IFF, Moscow IFF, Thessaloniki IFF, Amiens IFF, Guadalajara IFF…), Blies Brothers’ transmédia Soundhunters (ARTE – 2016, nominated for the Prix Europa) or VR films like 7 Lives by Jan Kounen (2019, Tribeca Film Festival) and Cosmos Within Us by Tupac Martir (2019, Mostra di Venezia International Film Festival). a_BAHN has currently several projects in production, especially ARTE’s documentary Monk, Pannonica: An American Story by Jacques Goldstein, the ambitious TV documentary series Draw For Change or the touring immersive experience Sweet Dreams by Robin McNicholas and Simon Wroe.

L’Atelier du fleuve
Publié par Alexis Smouts le Monday 25 October 2021
L’Atelier du Fleuve is a company for the development and conception of artistic and cinematographic projects created by the director duo Nicolas Blies and Stéphane Hueber-Blies. It is in the manner of poets that they wish to develop intimate projects which will approach through their personal traumas, but also through their family history, the social and political characteristics of the region of their childhood: Alsace, and more largely of all the Rhine basin. Film, documentary, theater and XR/immersive work will serve as playgrounds for projects engaged in the reality of this beautiful but also so particular and complex territory.
