Saarlaendisches Filmarchiv e.V. (SFA)
Presentation
The Saarländische Filmarchiv e.V. (SFA), headquartered in Saarbrücken, was founded in 1998 with the main aim of carrying out scientific research into the region’s film heritage, collecting it professionally, preserving it through long-term archiving and making it available to the public. The SFA has always been a service provider for production and post-production, science and administration, e.g. in the fields of curating, subtitling, translation, interpreting, script development, consultancy and expertise, the supply of film extracts and so on. In 1999, the SFA began developing a concept for a multilingual European media university, which it has been updating ever since.
