Call for applications – Delegation of transborder cinema professionals
Publié par Eda Uner le Tuesday 16 December 2025
Presence at festivalsOn the occasion of the Gérardmer International Fantastic Film Festival (January 27 – February 1, 2026), the CinEuro Film Lab, led by the Grand Est Region as the lead partner of the CinEuro project, is launching a call for applications for its new programme “FRISSONS EN GRAND EST”, with the aim of forming a delegation of 10 professionals, to be held from Monday January 26 to Wednesday January 28, 2026.
In partnership with the Gérardmer Fantastic Film Festival, this delegation is part of a cross-border cooperation dynamic and is aimed at professionals from the film and audiovisual industries based in the partner territories who wish to develop exchanges, collaborations and joint projects around genre cinema in its broadest sense (fantasy, science fiction, crime, thriller, etc.).
Over three days, from Monday January 26 to Wednesday January 28, 2026, the 10 participants will benefit from dedicated support as well as a tailor-made programme exploring the local ecosystem around the Vosges mountain range, in connection with specialised local partners. Between Strasbourg and Gérardmer, this itinerant journey will immerse participants in the heart of the mysteries of the Beast of the Vosges and the fascinating legends of this territory.
Context
As part of its actions in support of genre cinema in the Grand Est Region, the CinEuro Film Lab, led by the Grand Est Region as the lead partner of the CinEuro project, implements and coordinates short exploratory missions for professionals from the film and audiovisual industries, in connection with local partner events.
This programme aims to strengthen understanding of the French and cross-border cultural landscape, foster international exchanges, and encourage sustainable cooperation between professionals from these territories.
By encouraging the emergence of stories centred on themes, characters and settings rooted in the various partner territories, the CinEuro Film Lab addresses a dual challenge: regularly identifying new content likely to appeal to international audiences, while preserving a European “signature” and ensuring that productions and their direct and indirect economic impacts remain anchored in the territories.
As a reminder, the Grand Est Region stands out in France for its image and film policy promoting genre diversity and offers several support schemes covering the entire creative process, from development to distribution, for films produced, shot or supported in the Grand Est Region. The aim is to build a local distribution network with a unique narrative range. In addition to the regional support fund and the involvement of partner local authorities (PLATO network), the Region has also operated, since 2022, a call for projects to fund genre short and feature films at the writing, development and production stages.

CinEuro Film Lab 2025 – Stories Beyond Borders, within Societies
Publié par Eda Uner le Friday 19 September 2025
In collaboration with the Film Commissions of North Baden and Freiburg, the MFG Baden-Württemberg offers a tailor-made writing programme for screenwriters. This programme is part of the new phase of the CinEuro Film Lab’s ‘Beyond Borders’ and ‘Societies’ sequences, entitled Stories Beyond Borders, within Societies.
The programme focuses on discovering regional themes related to borders and society in the broadest sense, with themes from Mannheim and Freiburg as well as the neighbouring regions of the Grand Est and northern Switzerland, with the aim of transforming them into film and television projects and, in the best case scenario, bringing them to fruition. The stated objective is to develop regional themes for European and even global markets.
You will participate in workshops led by renowned screenwriter Jan Galli to reflect on your experience and assess the ‘narrative relevance’ of the themes addressed. Project development will continue in workshops led by Jan Galli, with the support of casting directors Fabian Kiefer and Michael Ackermann.
The programme will conclude with the preparation of presentations of your screenplays and participation in the workshop feedback session at the Forum Alentours in Strasbourg, scheduled for July 2026. The first edition of the CinEuro Film Lab feedback sessions took place in 2023 and focused on the themes of migration and history. Among the topics developed, two projects were selected by production companies and also received writing assistance. Another project was selected for development at the prestigious Torino Film Lab.
CinEuro Film Lab therefore offers an ideal framework, from the initial conception phase to the presentation of the project and beyond.

And that’s the end for Forum Alentours 2025 !
Publié par Eda Uner le Friday 18 July 2025
Industry meetingFruitful exchanges and sparks of creativity!
That’s how we can sum up the 20th edition of the Forum Alentours. This anniversary edition made a real impact, especially through the exciting pitches, one-to-one sessions and panels. Here’s a summary of the highlights of this anniversary edition.
Relive the highlights of the Forum!
Record attendance despite the heatwave!
This year’s Forum Alentours was attended by more than 350 audiovisual professionals – a remarkable turnout despite the very hot weather, which testifies to the growing interest in this flagship event.
With 55% women, 45% men and 10% non-binary people, this year’s event marks a significant step towards greater inclusiveness in the audiovisual sector.
A stronger cross-border dynamic
The Forum Alentours continues to play a key role in strengthening links between the French, German, Swiss, and Luxembourg partners in the CinEuro network. At this 20ᵉ edition, the number of German participants increased significantly, once again demonstrating the importance of the Alentours Forum in stimulating co-productions and fostering the emergence of stories rooted in our shared cultural space.
Exciting pitch sessions
The pitch sessions brought together nearly 200 participants in front of some twenty funders and around a catalogue of 22 Forum Alentours projects, 8 CinEuro Prize projects, including 1 author’s project from the ‘European Stories’ inspiration visit organised in November 2024 in Strasbourg.
At the end of the eight finalist presentations for the CinEuro Prize 2025, the jury deliberated and selected the two winners (one in the “Fiction” category and the other in the “Documentary” category) for this year’s competition.

Towards an even more sustainable event
In line with the sector’s eco-responsible commitments, this year’s Forum introduced a number of initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint: encouraging eco-mobility, vegetarian meals, reusable badges, etc. A survey of participants was also carried out on their arrival to measure the environmental impact of the event more precisely and to work together to find ways of improving it. Thanks to the commitment of the participants and the support of the Éco-Manifestations Alsace association, the Forum has been awarded level 2 certification!
Thank you for your participation and see you next year! 👋
