The SFA is the organizational precursor to a future publicly-run cinematheque of the Saarland.
Our areas of responsibility are
– networking with the filmTV+online industry and media amateurs
– collecting historical film material from the greater region, making it accessible and supplying it to interested production companies for documentaries/feature films,
– research the media history of the greater region
– curate: Exhibitions, film programs etc
– educate: Courses, workshops etc.

Global Super8 Day

The goal of the GS8D is to show that Super-8 lives! We would like to show this on one day with many simultaneous S8 events around the globe, to set a sign for Super-8, to reconnect the S8 community, to further strengthen it and to draw the attention of the general public to the values of Super-8 film in the past, present and future. The GS8D provides a framework that you fill in and design on location with your own Super 8 movies and S8 events. GS8D is a decentralized, international independent film festival – thanks to you!

Gässli Film Festival

The Gässli Film Festival is a Swiss short film festival with an international flair. As a non-profit event in the Basel region, the festival conveys cinematic fascination and background information on filmmaking. Every year, seven prizes are awarded with a “Basil” (Basilisk Dragon) in various categories – and of course the targeted promotion of up-and-coming regional filmmakers is also on the agenda. In addition, as a crowd puller and role model for young filmmakers, we invite inspiring personalities from the world of film who, as part of a jury of film and culture professionals, select the winning films and give visitors tips and tricks along the way.

Aline Fischer has worked between France and Germany since 2001. Her first feature-length fiction film, produced in Germany, METEORSTRASSE (METEOR STREET 84′) was screened at the Berlin Festival in 2016, nominated for Best First Feature Film (Berlinale) and selected at nearly 40 international festivals – including Rotterdam, Sao Paulo, Morelia, Durban, Stockholm, Hong Kong, Rabat – where it won several awards. At the end of 2018, she wrote and directed a 2nd short fiction film co-produced by ARTE LA FUITE EN EUROPE.

With over 15 years of experience in the advertising industry, we offer service production and fixing for the Blackforest area, including location scouting, local gear, and crew.
We successfully produced several awards winning fiction short- and medium-long films and are developing several feature scripts at the moment, all based in Baden-Württemberg and partly Alsace.
One of our producers is an expert in Green Shooting and helped the Südwestrundfunk Tatort to become a green production. We offer Green Consulting and the Green Producing know-how for our area also as a service provider.
