CinEuro Award 2026 – Call for Projects
The call for projects for the CinEuro Award 2026 is open from Monday, 19 January, to Sunday, 15 March at midnight (CET).
Applications must be submitted exclusively online via the Festiciné platform using the link provided below.
Applications submitted after the deadline or via any other means (email, post, etc.) will not be accepted. To avoid technical issues, applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their files well in advance of the deadline.
The full application rules are set out in the 2026 public regulations, available for download below. This document is legally binding. The present text is intended solely as an overview of the main eligibility criteria to help producers assess whether their project qualifies.
Please note that the official languages of the CinEuro Award are French and German. The present english version is therefore only valid for indication. The official regulations and applications document are available in both French and German versions of the page. Applications submitted in english will not be considered
Award Categories
Each year, the CinEuro Award supports two international co-production projects in development that are narratively linked to the CinEuro territories:
- Documentaries:A grant of €10,000 for a feature-length documentary (min. 40 min) or a series (min. 2 × 20 min), intended for cinema, television or streaming platforms. An additional €5,000 bonus may be awarded after two years if the project’s progress is deemed satisfactory.
- Fiction :A grant of €20,000 for a feature film (min. 60 min) or a series (min. 3 × 20 min), live-action or animated. An additional €10,000 bonus may be awarded after two years if the project’s progress is deemed satisfactory.
Main eligibility criteria
Projects must:
- be carried by an author–producer tandem;
- be developed by a production company based in Europe or Switzerland;
- be in development (shooting must not start within one year of submission and the project must not have already received production funding);
- demonstrate a narrative link to at least two CinEuro territories, preferably located in two different countries;
- include a formal co-development or co-production commitment with a partner in another European country;
- provide for a French and/or German dubbed and/or subtitled version.
At least one of the production companies involved must be based in a CinEuro territory. This does not have to be the submitting company.
The CinEuro territories are:
Brussels-Capital Region, Wallonia (including Ostbelgien), Luxembourg, Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden-Württemberg, Northwestern Switzerland and Grand Est.

Selection process
After an eligibility check, projects are assessed by a jury composed of representatives of the Award’s member institutions, based on artistic quality, narrative relevance, dissemination potential and feasibility.
At least two projects per category will be selected as finalists and officially announced during the Cannes Film Festival.
Finalists will then present their projects at the Forum Alentours in Strasbourg (1–3 July), where the Fiction and Documentary award winners will be announced.
