EUROPEAN STORIES
About European Stories - Europe and its scenes of power
Home to numerous European institutions, Brussels, Strasbourg and Luxembourg are bursting with politicians, attachés, advisors, civil servants, journalists, activists, lobbyists, spies, international institutions, NGOs, foreign delegations, specialist law firms and much more.
These centres of power provide an ideal backdrop for projects that deal with Europe in all its dimensions (economic, political, geographical, social, cultural, etc.).
European Stories is therefore part of the themes of the CinEuro Film Lab, which is divided into three accompanying phases:
- Inspiration phase
- Writing phase
- Mentoring in production start-up phase

Inspiration Phase
This first phase of the ‘European Stories’ series, in which filmmakers can discover new and inspiring topics, includes two inspirational trips to Brussels and Strasbourg.
Inspiration Session #1 took place on 10 October 2024 in Brussels, followed by Inspiration Session #2 on 27 and 28 November 2024 in Strasbourg.
These inspiration sessions are not just simple sources of ideas. The proof? Among the eight finalists for the CinEuro Prize was the project #B.I.A.S, created by Servet Ahmet GOLBOL and co-produced by Impala Filmproduktion (DE) and Backes Production (BE), which was developed during Inspiration Session #2 in Strasbourg. It was then presented to around twenty financiers and the jury, demonstrating the concrete impact of this initiative in discovering new European voices and stories.

Writing phase and mentoring phase
The second and third phases of the ‘European Stories’ sequence will take place in parallel, as an exception. This joint phase begins with an offer from the Association des Scénaristes et de l’Audiovisuel (ASA), the Association des Réalisateurs et Réalisatrices Francophones (ARRF) and screen.brussels, which includes a cycle of five writing workshops and mentoring to prepare participants for pitch sessions.
The CinEuro Film Lab 2025 programme offers filmmakers the opportunity to pitch the projects developed during these workshops at the BRIFF 2026 (Brussels International Film Festival, Belgium) and the FORUM ALENTOURS 2026 (Strasbourg, France).
You can submit your projects until 31 August 2025. Five projects will then be selected and supported for one year.
